This module explores the growing challenge of fake news and its impact on media trust, credibility, and public relations practice. Students will examine how misinformation spreads rapidly through social media, how it influences public perception, and the ethical responsibilities communicators have in this environment. Emphasizing media literacy and the Page Principles, the module highlights how PR professionals can help distinguish truth from falsehood, craft transparent messages, and respond strategically when clients become targets of misinformation.
